The movie started of very dull, with Mario talking to his father about going to America or getting a new job other than fishing. However, after this part of the movie, the movie got better, and more engaging. Mario went to the postal office to get a job, and then he learned, that he would be giving mail to the great poet Pablo Neruda. From then on, until the end the movie got better. Then, when Mario died it was very sad. However, it made the movie good by putting emotion into it: and by making the audience feel closer to Mario and Beatrice. Therefore, overall I thought it was a good movie.
In this movie, thei were many themes about class. One of them was the fact that Pablo Neruda thought that the poor people were the most important. For example, in one of the  newspapers, Pablo wrote a quote that read like this. "I was happy in Italy, where I led a simple life, with simple people." Pablo thought that there should be no true distinctions between classes. He thought that everyone should be equally treated, this is the reason that he could befriend Mario and not feel subconscious about it.
This movie also has many themes about love. In this movie, it shows love between two friends, and romantic love. The movie shows how friends love each other, but also how there are problems in relationships between two friends.  For example, after Mario's wedding, Pablo offers Mario money to help him while he has no job. It shows that Pablo really cares about Mario's well-being. However, Pablo does not talk to Mario for five years, or even write a letter to him. This shows that Mario and Pablo's relationship had problems. This movie shows romantic love, by showing how Mario pursued Beatrice and spent time writing poetry, and metaphors about her. It then showed how she began to love him after he spent time with her. I think this is saying, for romantic love to work, two people must spend time together.
This movie also had many themes about poetry. One of the most important things that Pablo said about poetry, is that it is banal, if it has to be explained. Pablo spoke about poetry, as if it were another language that can not be translated. It can only be said the way it was said, and no other way.
These were all themes of this movie, and were all important.

.1. Choice Poem:Rejected by this world
I was beguiled by this world, that at first sight seemed friendly to me, but after being thrown around like a ball by the people in it, I found it was belligerent. The people in it, never understood me, so they cast me out like a movie.  I went away, to find refuge. Then, out of the divine place, He spoke to me. "Be resilient he said, “And face the world again, but this time do not rely on your own acumen. Rely on my help in your quest and the people who try to hurt you in this world, will be benign to you.” So then after He showed me his benevolence, I ran back fast to my world, like a squirrel. I then was never thrown around again.
2. Give Me Your Hand Gabriela Mistrals Poem, My poet

I really like the flow of this poem, and the figurative language it uses
Give me your hand and give me your love,
give me your hand and dance with me.
A single flower, and nothing more,
a single flower is all we'll be.

Keeping time in the dance together,
you'll be singing the song with me.
Grass in the wind, and nothing more,
grass in the wind is all we'll be.

I'm called Hope and you're called Rose:
but losing our names we'll both go free,
a dance on the hills, and nothing more,
a dance on the hills is all we'll be.

3.Poem about Partner:

Poem Title: December

The road of life is burdensome, and at the end of it is death. Death, that crept in to take my stepfather away from me, and made my house cold as the December when he passed away. This burden of death I have is heavy as a bison, but what comforts me is that I have my stepfathers love and he’s in a better place, above.

4.Poem with figurative language Poem Title:Unsteady

Its sways like a ship, this relationship, one day you feel your in love with me, the next day your love for me I can’t see, we love each other but our actions and words are world war 2, there in conflict. I say listen to me, but on my mouth you want to put a lid, make me be silent, but the only thing you are is blinded,  but whether or not we like it, the simple truth is, were bonded.

5.Poem about Chess Photo

Poem Title:Silent War

A3, A4,coordinates of the chess board that I’m in a battle on, white vs black, king vs queen I’m gonna win this game that many have played over the centuries. I may not be the best, but my mind is a cheetah, faster and stronger than you and ready to attack.. This game is important to me, this is war and if you don’t believe me, just put your hand on a chessboard, and you’ll see. So if you don’t want to lose then back down, but if you feel like it, pull up a chess board, I’m still around. You’ll make a move, but by my next I’ll have you in checkmate. This is my game, and I’m the king, so don't even try, to take my crown.
